Ms Sigman's Safe Practices for Using Email
- Never give your full name, parents name, telephone number or address out to any person or persons outside the school.
- You are required to send a copy of any email sent to someone outside the class to Ms Sigman.
- If you recieve an email from a person you did not already send email to you must delete it without opening it.
- Never give out your email address to someone not at Montebello Elementary School.
- Never use your Ziggysclass.com email address to sign up for any social network like Bebo or MySpace.
- Never pass on a chain mail message. Chain mail is any email sent to you which contains some story and then promises something if you send it on to a certain number of other people.
- Never open an attachment to an email without asking Ms Sigman (either by email or during class) unless it is sent to you directly from Ms Sigman.
- If you receive any email that makes you feel uncomfortable from anyone at Montebello or anywhere else tell Ms Sigman or your parent.
Being Polite Online
Remember that when you use email online you must follow the same rules you would follow in class. You must respect all other persons and contacts online just like you would respect them in class. Use classroom appropriate language and understand that your internet privileges may be revoked at any time for inappropriate usage of your ziggysclass.com gmail account or of the internet while in class. ***DO NOT post anything online that you would not mind being posted in Dr. Sprout's office or displayed on the refrigerator at your home!
